ZoraBots pursues its international development rolling out its unique solution designed to give life to humanoid robots. Pioneer in its field, ZoraBots is now opening up a new path and announces the creation in Rwanda of ZoraBots Africa, a subsidiary dedicated to support ICT national policies. This first operation in Africa might be the first step of a new strategy across the whole continent currently driven by a new smart and high tech dynamic.

In October 2019, belgian company ZoraBots attended RwandaDay in Bonn, Germany, and had a decisive meeting with the president of Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagamé. ZoraBots is convinced that Africa will play a big role in the IT world of tomorrow. That's why the company had announced during the event that operations in Rwanda will be shortly put in motion.

AI stands for African Intelligence...

One month after the RwandaDay in Germany, the company has engaged the program and is now disclosing its next big steps in Africa, starting with the creation of ZoraBots Africa. This subsidiary aims to support national IT policies and local economic developments in Rwanda, and across Africa in general. This support structure will focus on the use of robotics in several sectors, such as Education.

"While many only look into Asian or American markets,we strongly think that we have to think global. We already work with major robotics players from China but we also have this conviction that a real and impressive momentum is increasing across whole Africa. This is what ZoraBots Africa is about: it's a development tool thought to support and speed up the changes of this continent which is, with no doubt, taking its place into the future. ", Fabrice Goffin andTommy Deblieck, co-CEOs of ZoraBots, said.

ZoraBots Africa will headquarter in Rwanda and become operational by January 2020. Key meetings already took place in Kigali between ZoraBots and the Rwandan government.

President Paul Kagamé payed close attention to ZoraBots's ambition and thinks it's all aligned with his 2020 Vision: "We'll move Rwanda from an agriculture-based economy to a knowledge-based society ".

The Rwandan government ready to go this way

Ministers of Education and of Information and communications technology and Innovation, Dr Eugène Mutimura and Paula Ingabire met ZoraBots in Kigali a few days ago in attendance of the Rwandan ambassador in Belgium Amandin Rugira. For the purpose of cooperation, they both expressed their support for the establishing and the development of the belgian company in Rwanda.

One of the first collaborations and one of the first mission for ZoraBots Africa could be the deployment of humanoid robotsin primary and secondary schools with the aim of going further into the already policy engaged for digital, ICT and STEM (Sciences Technology Engineer Mathematics) teaching. STEM is one of the major areas ZoraBots is worldwide active in.

40 to 60 jobs to be created

« In the field of robotics and digital, it's all about AI. We do believe in AI, we vote for it. But here, AI stands for African Intelligence.", Tommy Deblieck andFabrice Goffin said. The co-CEOs intend to create 40 to 60 jobs in Rwanda. "Our plan is to lean on local talents we'll find and help to train here in Rwanda".

China, Europe, Usa, Middle-East and now Africa. According to Fabrice Goffin and Tommy Deblieck, "2020 will be the year of getting ZoraBots and ZoraBots Africa 100% global".
